Barbara McCarthy

Barbara McCarthy is a published writer and Junior at John Jay College living in Manhattan. She has published online and in print: memoir, flash fiction, and poetry in the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain. She writes, because she cannot sing, dance, or catch a ball without cowering and covering her face in fear. Even though she was not able to tie her shoelaces until age 8, she was able to figure out how to tie words together, if not for profit at least for fun! In her writing and in real life she likes to champion the underdog and undercat. Barbara is a shameless Socialist, a retired nurse, a lover of Beethoven! She loves Beethoven so much, sometimes she even dreams of him!
