Katherine Hunter

Katherine Hunter is an alum of John Jay College of Criminal Justice class of ‘23. She majored in Culture, Crime, and Deviance Studies but has found her passions in the arts. Always an avid writer, she chose to take the Creative Nonfiction Writing course offered at John Jay for the sheer enjoyment and curiosity as to what creative nonfiction really was. In it she found a new love for the craft of both memoir and literary journalism. Post-grad, she’s continued with these crafts as well as continuing with her first loves: poetry and playwriting. She describes her work as sorrowful hopefulness with a hint of whimsy that she hopes others love as much as she loved writing them.
