Brianna Gardere

Brianna Gardere is a recent Law and Society BA graduate at John Jay. She has been writing since the age of fourteen— she wrote fiction for years, and then picked up a love of creative nonfiction through the intro course she took in the first semester of her junior year. Brianna always had a deep appreciation for her life, but never saw it as anything worth reading about until meeting several professors who showed her the endless potential in the material. “Absence” was her first truly personal piece. It was healing for her, and her hope is that it can touch those who have been through similar life events.
