Devon SimmonsDevon Simmons is a Harlem native who currently resides in the Bronx. He made his way to John Jay in 2012 by way of the prison to college pipeline. In his freshmen year at Otisville correctional facility his work was selected into John Jay’s finest. After his release serving 15 ½ years he immediately enrolled to Hostos community college where he graduated with Honors becoming the first from the program. He also is a part-time student at Columbia University's Justice-in-Education Scholars program. As a Criminal Justice major and English minor, his goal is to change the narrative of those formerly incarcerated and promote the importance of education.
